About Noble Fight Systems

Noble Fight Systems is a values-based kickboxing gym based in Hakaru.

VALUES

Everything that happens in the gym is based on our 3 core values: Courage, Honor, Fraternity.

COURAGE

Direction: inwards

Focus: emotions, the body

Gratitude: for myself

To develop courage is the foundation for all growth and change in our lives. By repeatedly encountering internal resistance to training and pushing ourselves hard with the encouragement and support of our training partners, we teach ourselves that we have the mental and emotional resources to achieve difficult goals. This internal fortitude changes the way we see ourselves and the world around us. We become more and more able to soothe and comfort ourselves in difficult circumstances, and carry on towards our goals. We become emotionally resilient and strong. We gain the attribute of Courage.

HONOR

Direction: upwards

Focus: the mind, self discipline

Gratitude: for my higher purpose

To become an honorable person is worth more than anything else in life. When going inwards and developing a relationship with ourselves through the pursuit of courage, we will naturally encounter the spark of divine consciousness that lives in each person. This ability to be aware of ourselves and the world around us is given for a purpose, and each person must learn what that purpose is through focus and self discipline. By conditioning the mind to pay attention and be present we can notice when we behave in a way that is life giving and supporting our purpose for being alive, or missing the mark and not aligning with our higher purpose. We can learn to live with Honor.

FRATERNITY

Direction: outwards

Focus: each other, our community

Gratitude: for everyone in my life

After developing an internal courage, and then submitting to our higher purpose, we can then learn to serve other people in a way that brings life and peace to the world around us. Fraternity means family through brotherhood, because the loved ones of my brothers are my loved ones, and vice versa. This is not a gendered concept, it includes both men and women equally. Instead it is an understanding that each person I encounter is worthy of love and acceptance, just as I am. It also means that we focus first on our own well being, then the wellbeing of those closest to us in our family and immediate circle, and then other people beyond that. By maintaining and caring for our own loved ones, we can then have something to offer to the rest of the world. By seeking courage within, and developing an honorable life, we can then be a brother or sister to anyone else, we can embody the value of fraternity.
